II. Learning Objectives

Our learning objectives for students included:

  • being introduced to several of Franklin’s scientific achievements, and the nature of  his scientific inquiries
  • understanding Franklin’s value of collaborative work and community problem solving in the founding of basic civic institutions and associations
  • being inspired (to take action) by Franklin’s inventiveness and spirit of civic generosity
  • learning of Franklin’s role in the founding of the United States
  • being able to understand and demonstrate the basic skills and processes involved in putting together a museum exhibition
  • assimilating and presenting a set of ideas in an organized, logical and creative manner
  • being comfortable using interactive tools to communicate and illustrate an interactive narrative (about Franklin)
  • understanding the advantages of and improving their skills with object-based learning
