Dana Devon
My name is Dana Devon and my job is Director of Education for the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary. The word “tercentenary” means a three-hundred year celebration and that is what the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary is all about – celebrating the 300th birthday of Ben Franklin, a founding father with a driving passion for exploring and understanding the world around him.
We created this project to give a group of middle school students an opportunity to explore all the different facets of Franklin, both the public and personal side of an extraordinary, but very human, individual. Using simple multimedia tools, and their own imaginations, students designed and built their own online exhibit of Benjamin Franklin, one they hope to share with other students around the country (and around the world).
